I began my creative career in Wellington 25+ years ago, beginning in advertising, eventually moving into more brand and comms-driven agencies. In 1991, I pursued self-employment as a freelance designer, contracting back to a variety of agencies to work on a wide range of brand, marketing, and advertising projects. Experience? Tick.
Over the years, the creative industry, like others, has undergone many changes – particularly with the evolution of technology, marketing-driven analytics, and now the introduction of AI. It’s easy to be dazzled with what can be done today. Still, I just see tech as a few more tools for the creative toolkit. The best kind of brands – the ones that really connect – are still driven by the human connection with great ideas built on great stories.

Saying I like print is a bit of an understatement. Having started my sales career in the print industry over 20 years ago, I relish the challenge of creating unique solutions for clients, even while we live in this digital world.
Of course that’s just part of the picture. In this deadline driven industry, I’m a details and time management person, working closely with clients to ensure deadlines are met. In between I’m contributing ideas across whatever projects we currently have on the boil. It can be a truly rewarding, if not a challenging process, taking an initial brief and turning it into the kind of solution that speaks volumes for our clients.
So whats our story?
It’s a fairly uncomplicated one.
Loudhailer Design Ltd was founded on a passion for creativity and a belief that we could help businesses gain clarity in their brand communications. We proudly call ourselves a boutique agency. It’s a more personalised approach that perfectly suits how we work.
Experienced to the hilt (and slightly caffeine-fuelled), we’re always interested in getting a little disruptive where we can by exploring innovative ways to engage audiences. We’re always looking at what’s going on around us to draw creative inspiration, though we’re not what you’d call trend chasers either.
We love the variety of projects we take on, the challenges they bring, and the client relationships we form (many of whom we still work with today). Having collaborated with over 250 unique clients, we know a one-size-fits-all creative approach simply doesn’t work. That’s why we focus on asking the right questions, understanding the industry, and building creative strategies that actually fit the business, not a template.
Above all, seeing our work create real value and making a meaningful impact for the clients we work with is what really matters.
